FAQ’s

Do people have to be a member and/or attend church at LWCC in order to utilize your services?

No, our services are available to anyone who qualifies after completing the initial assessment.

Do you have services for adolescents?

We currently are seeing adolescents 13 and up for assessments only. Adolescents needing treatment will be referred to other facilities. In the future we plan to offer adolescent outpatient services but there are none available at this time.

Do you have inpatient or residential programs?

Our facility is licensed for outpatient services only. An initial assessment will determine if sober housing is appropriate or if an individual needs to be referred to a licensed residential program.

Do you have any childcare services available?

None at this time.

Do you offer transportation to and from the program?

We do not offer any transportation to and from our program. Many individuals carpool and some use the local bus transportation. Government based insurance plans also may have cab services in the benefits. Check the local bus routes at http://www.metrotransit.org

Where are you located?

We are located in Brooklyn Park, MN near the intersection ofInterstate 694 and Boone Avenue or Highway 169 and Brooklyn Boulevard. Click here for map.

Do you accept insurance?

We are providers for HealthPartners, Medica, MHP, UCare, PreferredOne and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Many other providers pay in full or partial payment. Call the customer service or member services phone number listed on your insurance card to verify your benefits.

Do you accept Rule 25/consolidated/county funding?

We do accept Rule 25 funding. It is based on the county that you are a resident of. You need to complete an assessment in that county and be referred to our program for treatment services. Residents of Hennepin County can be seen at our facility.

What services are available for family members?

For those enrolled in treatment services, family participation may be a part of the treatment plan. We offer quarterly family nights that include family focused programming along with meet and greet of staff. Family support services are available weekly through our Real Life Recovery support group that meets each Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.

Are there opportunities for volunteering or community service work?

How soon can I get into your program?

After completion of the initial assessment, an individual can start at any time. Most choose to start within 1-3 days.

Why types of services do you offer?

Adult and adolescent assessments, adult outpatient treatment, family program, support groups and sponsorship.

Are you a 12 step program?

Living Free Recovery Services does not utilize the 12 step structure in it’s treatment programming. Although many of it’s principles can be seen throughout the treatment process. LFRS uses a unique program philosophy integrating cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and biblical principles. Our Real Life Recovery support group does utilize a Christian version of the 12 steps.

How is Living Free Recovery Services different from other substance abuse programs?

LFRS is a faith based treatment program that is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services to serve individuals 13 years of age and older. Christian principles are the foundation of the recovery program, combined with practical living skills that promote long-term sobriety.

How Do I Get Started?

The first step to get started is to complete a comprehensive assessment. The assessment will recommend an appropriate level of care for treatment. If you have had an assessment completed elsewhere, you may have it sent/faxed over for review. If Living Free Recovery Services identifies the referral as appropriate, you will be contacted by staff to schedule a start date. You will be required to complete an orientation session prior to attending your first group session.
